Commemoration: Around 200 people on Paris Square on Saturday
An attacker had fired shots around a popular gay bar in Oslo on Saturday night. Two men were killed, more than 20 people injured. The Norwegian secret service PST classifies the attack as an Islamist terrorist attack. In Berlin on Saturday evening, according to police, around 200 people commemorated the victims. The commemoration on Pariser Platz in the centre of Berlin took place without incident, a police spokesperson said on Sunday. The participants displayed rainbow flags, one wore a luminous cape.

The event was called for by the Lesbian and Gay Association Berlin-Brandenburg (LSVD). "As a Berlin community, we are sending a strong sign of solidarity and against queer hostility to Oslo," it said in a statement. On Sunday evening, the Brandenburg Gate was to be illuminated in the colours of the rainbow, according to the Senate.
