Heat warning for Saturday: up to 37 degrees

Red alert for Brandenburg’s dry forests: Half of the 14 counties are currently at the highest forest fire danger level, Level 5, according to data from the Ministry of the Environment and Forestry. However, the situation may ease as rain is expected on Sunday.
In Brandenburg, the very high risk of wildfires primarily affects the eastern part of the state. Level 5 applies to the following districts: Dahme-Spreewald, Elbe-Elster, Märkisch-Oderland, Oberhavel, Barnim, Oder-Spree, and Uckermark.
Seven other counties are at Level 4 - which, according to the classification system, indicates a high risk. According to the forecast by the German Weather Service (DWD), temperatures could reach up to 37 degrees today. According to the DWD’s calculations, the risk of wildfires could decrease again starting Sunday. Rain and thunderstorms are forecast for Berlin and Brandenburg. It may also be rainy at the start of the new week.
