BSR offers pickup service for Christmas trees

Christmas was weeks ago, but the Christmas tree is still standing? The “Christmas Tree Discovery Service” offered by Berliner Stadtreinigung (BSR) provides a solution: anyone who has not yet disposed of their tree can order a personal pick-up service on a website.

Anyone who wants to have a tree collected can simply enter the street and house number using an online form on the BSR website. Trees belonging to others that have been disposed of on the street can also be reported. Otherwise, up to one cubic meter of tree and shrub cuttings can also be disposed of free of charge at one of the 14 BSR recycling centers.

Christmas trees do not belong in the organic waste bin

Under no circumstances should old Christmas trees be disposed of in the organic waste bin. According to BSR, the trunks and branches are unsuitable for fermentation in the biogas plant. The BSR's Christmas tree collection service normally ran until January 24, 2026. With the so-called Christmas tree discovery service, even the last trees will now be disposed of properly.
