Kunsthaus Dahlem

The Kunsthaus Dahlem in Zehlendorf features rotating exhibitions of works of German postwar modern art from both East and West Germany.

Located directly on the edge of the Grunewald, the Kunsthaus Dahlem is housed in the former studio of sculptor Arno Breker. The building was designed by architect Hans Freese. The main gallery of the Kunsthaus Dahlem features sculptures from the postwar period - primarily from 1945 to 1961. Temporary exhibitions showcasing various artists of postwar modernism round out the Kunsthaus Dahlem's program. The Kunsthaus places a special emphasis on sculpture, complemented by paintings, graphic works and photographs.

Sculpture Garden and Brücke Museum

The museum's spacious garden features about 20 sculptures by the artist Bernhard Heiliger. Heiliger used the studio on Käuzchensteig from 1949 until his death in 1995 and also lived on the premises. The Kunsthaus Dahlem is located in the immediate vicinity of the Brücke Museum, which is dedicated to the Expressionist artist group "Brücke." Visitors can tour both institutions with a combined ticket.
