Ridesharing in Berlin

Ridesharing services in Berlin complement public transportation and conventional cabs. With the help of an app, a car can be ordered that can take up to five other people at the same time according to the principle of a shared cab. People who have a similar destination are grouped together by the provider to form a ride, also known as ridepooling. An algorithm calculates the route that will get all passengers to their destination most cheaply. Not only the route is shared, but also the fare. This minimizes empty driving time and increases capacity utilization.
