  • Jüdisches Gemeindehaus

Many flowers and wreaths were laid at the Jüdisches Gemeindehaus (Jewish Community Center) in Fasanenstraße in Berlin.

Fasanenstraße crosses the famous Kurfürstendamm boulevard. There is a lot to discover in the street, both culturally and architecturally.

Fasanenstraße is located in the west of Berlin and runs for two kilometers through the districts of Charlottenburg and Wilmersdorf. Architectural and cultural highlights come together in this street.

Oasis in the city: Literaturhaus Berlin

Just off Kurfürstendamm, the Literaturhaus Berlin invites literature fans to spend some quality time here. Visitors can sit under the trees in the café-restaurant in the listed villa. A bookshop has a well-stocked selection of literature. Throughout the year, the Literaturhaus hosts events with different literary focuses.

Jüdisches Gemeindehaus

The community center of the Jewish community is located at Fasanenstraße 79-80. A large synagogue once stood here. It was destroyed during the pogrom night. After the end of National Socialism, the Jewish Community Center was built. It stands for a new beginning after National Socialism and the Holocaust. In front of the community center you can see an element from the synagogue that was destroyed in 1938. The "Torah scroll" created by R. Hess stands in front of the building.

Theater des Westens

At Kantstraße 9-12 on the corner of Fasanenstraße, the Theater des Westens is well worth a visit. The theater not only offers elaborately staged musicals. The building itself is also worth seeing. Berlin's oldest musical theater is a well-preserved example of magnificent bourgeois architecture.

Kant-Dreieck

The Kant-Dreieck is also architecturally interesting. The eleven-storey Josef Paul Kleihues office building is one of the first new office buildings of the 1990s in City West. A special feature of the building is the large, movable wind sail.

Delphi Filmpalast

The Delphi Filmpalast is located in the section between Kantstraße and Hardenbergstraße. You could dance the night away here until 1949. The former dance palace has become a movie theater. Today, the arthouse cinema is one of the most important movie theaters in Germany. The flair of the early 1920s still prevails here.
