The intercultural Allmende-Kontor community garden has found a temporary home on Tempelhofer Feld.
Over 500 gardeners grow fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers in 250 raised beds in the Allmende-Kontor community garden on the east side of the former Tempelhof Airport site. Free beds are allocated every year in March/April. The dates for the allocation are announced on the Allmende-Kontor website and on notices in the garden. The Allmende-Kontor in Berlin-Tempelhof was developed as a contact point and for networking, as a knowledge repository and place of learning with a garden for everyone. Public urban open space is made tangible and designable here through communal, cooperative use and design as a common good.
