Boat trips are one of the most relaxed ways to discover Berlin and its famous sights.
A boat trip across the Spree River in the inner city of Berlin is ideal for school classes on a trip, with one hour in length. There are many important sights along the way, such as the Reichstag and the government quarter. An audio guide explains the sights along the route, supplemented by information on Berlin's history. In addition to German, it is available in seven other languages (English, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Russian and Hebrew).
The boat tour takes you along a central route in Berlin's city centre. It departs from pier Nikolaiviertel, Pier Friedrichstraße and Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Chancellery) piers near the main railway station and returns back to the respective pier.
On this tour you can see the government quarter with the Reichstag and the Chancellery. Political life in Germany takes place in the modern buildings on the banks of the Spree; history has been written in old buildings. The boat tour also takes you past the glass main station.
Passing Berlin's Museum Island, the boat reaches Berlin Cathedral with its impressive classical style. The boat then continues to Nikolai quarter, which is one of the oldest quarters in Berlin.
For school classes, a boat tour through Berlin is both entertaining and informative - a perfect idea to get a first impression of the many facets of the capital. If you are taking a school trip to Berlin, you should therefore plan a sightseeing tour by boat. Depending on the weather and mood, there is enough space above and below deck for all passengers. This boat tour is bookable all year round.
