The pier Alte Börse / Hackescher Markt is located opposite the Museum Island in the heart of the city, facing the Alte Nationalgalerie and the Neues Museum behind it. Hackescher Markt, Alexanderplatz and Nikolaiviertel are within walking distance on the pier side of the river. On the opposite bank of the river Spree on the Museum Island, the Berliner Dom, Bode Museum and Pergamon Museum are only a few minutes away. Next to the Dom, the Berlin City Palace (Stadtschloss) is being reconstructed.
