What role does music play in your life? And in your family’s life? Does your family have a family song? How did it come about? Does a particular song remind you of a specific moment? What story comes to mind? And what did your parents, grandparents, or siblings listen to – when they were your age, when you were a child? What stories do they remember? Does a new story emerge through remembering, through connecting with others, through dancing a choreography again, through re-listening to music from another time?

MY MELODIES is a journey through the decades of music, through memories and family stories. The piece moves toward the future – while bringing history (and stories) into the present.
