"Manoli...!" (1986) sensitively balances personal tragedy with political dimension. Sixty-year-old widow Maria speaks to her only companion: her cat Manoli. Her son Manos was murdered by paramilitary forces in the courtyard of their own house during the 1974 coup. Rebelling against oblivion and silence, Maria transforms her kitchen into an impromptu tribunal to demand truth and justice.

Three days, five plays, two stages. From November 20th to 22nd, 2026, the Greek Theater Festival Berlin will raise its curtains for the very first time. The newly founded festival celebrates its historic debut with an exclusive opening performance at the Greek Embassy on November 20th and continues its program at the tak Theater Aufbau Kreuzberg on November 21st and 22nd.

This creates, for the first time, a permanent platform to bring contemporary Greek and Cypriot theater precisely where it belongs: to a live audience. The accompanying program includes post-show discussions and opportunities to meet the playwrights.
