East Side Story – A German Jewsical

East Side Story – A German Jewsical

East Side Story – A German Jewsical

A city in ruins, two and a half Jewish sisters back in their former homeland to see if living here is possible, a father with many thoughts and plans and a mother who makes them happen, past and future love affairs, two new systems full of alleged temptations, lots of music and – oh yes – the Holocaust was also there. But those were different times. That was back then. So, a few months ago. Maybe even years! Now it’s time to drop it. Time for an economic miracle. Time for a real socialist country. Time for a cold war. Time for a musical. Because anything else would only lead to having to deal with reality. And nobody really wants that. Because on the one hand, we’ve already got Coca-Cola instead of »Heil Hitler« and on the other, fascists are simply not allowed to exist now, and thus there are no fascists anymore. So come on in! An absurd-dramatic musical performance – inspired by Hildegard Knef, South Park, Fritz Bauer, Billy Wilder, and many others.

»The director loves Britney Spears, and theplaywright comes from TV /Please pay attentionnow but don’t take anything too seriously /The critics are among you, their pencils sharpened /A show by Jews about Jews, well then, enjoy –writing – that – review!«
