Welcome to Urinetown, The Musical! Not the place, of course. Urinetown the place is something you’ll hear a lot about over the course of the show. But this here is the Berlin debut of Urinetown, The Musical, brought to you by the mad genius of the kind of musical team.

Urinetown is set in a dystopian, not-so-distant-future, where a catastrophic water shortage has led to a ban on private toilets. Citizens are forced to resort to public bathrooms, where the prices are controlled by a single powerful corporation. Enter a hero, who decides to throw off the shackles of oppressive incontinence and lead the people to urinary freedom!

This triple Tony-award winning musical satire features something for everyone: capitalism, resource scarcity, corporate greed, state propaganda, inequality, environmental crises, love, Brechtian fourth-wall breaks, populism, Malthusian economics, revenge, rebellion, and more silly walks than you can shake a stick at. Because Urinetown, The Musical, is here to take the piss (ha) out of musical theatre itself.

So come on down to Urinetown. It’s a terrible place to live, but a hilarious place to spend an evening.
