Pasquale Aleardi & Die Phonauten: Liebe oder Show

Situated stylistically somewhere between chanson, chart-pop and musical cabaret, Pasquale Aleardi and the Phonauts make music with boundless enthusiasm, using a wealth of instruments and inventive effects. Aleardi — known to many as “Kommissar Dupin” — reveals himself here as a passionate singer and performer of anti-depression music.

With the Phonauts, Spike and Mary — two modern-day sound sailors — he finds energetic companions for a cheerful parade in search of inner contentment. Naturally, human quirks and imperfections also surface along the way, laid bare before the audience with shameless delight. But before envy, malice or stubbornness can gain the upper hand, they are charmingly swept away by yet another musical highlight.

The show recalls the life of a wandering musician who drives away gloom day after day through the power of music. Happiness cannot be guaranteed — but the path towards it can. In the end, guests leave with a smile and wonder how two hours could pass so quickly.
