Spend a slow summer afternoon immersed in the strange and soothing world of ASMR. Together with artist Dina Kelberman, visitors are invited to explore sponge videos, ambient sounds, and tactile image-making inspired by her installation The Wave. The courtyard of C/O Berlin will feature interactive ASMR filming stations that encourage participants to experiment with recording, listening, and performing. Visitors are welcome to bring their own sponge and create short ASMR videos with their own Smartphones. Throughout the afternoon, visitors can discover the genre and become part of a temporary audiovisual landscape.

The starting point is Kelberman’s installation The Wave, for which she collected thousands of sponge-related ASMR videos from Instagram: hands in rubber gloves squeezing, lathering, and tearing apart sponges in endless repetition. Oscillating between soothing sensory pleasure and visual overload, the work explores the peculiar tensions within digital ASMR culture — between intimacy and publicity, comfort and discomfort, bodily response and online performance.
