„Sarkha صرخة“ is a film by Jumana Dabis about Palestinian women and girls who come together through dance in a time of fear and destruction. The film shows dance as a force for community, memory, and hope for a better future.In an everyday life marked by destruction, uncertainty, and fear, dance can offer solace and community. Out of this need emerged “Sarkha صرخة”, a film by choreographer Jumana Dabis and her SHAMS Dance Company. Calling for more visibility, Palestinian women and girls gather in Cairo, Ramallah, and Gaza. In a collective, symbolic attempt to come together in Gaza, they want to dance side by side for one last time. “Sarkha صرخة” is a document of art’s unifying power, capturing the enduring beauty of Palestine and its people’s resilience, while holding fast to hope for a better future.
