NEXTDOOR TALK

Vinyltalk mit Erbatur Çavuşoğlu (Lefter Records / Rumi Sounds)

In Turkey, Erbatur Çavuşoğlu managed to strike a balance between anarcho-punk and urban studies, and repeatedly rubbed some people the wrong way with them. Around 10 years ago, he started a new life in Berlin and opened the record shop “Lefter Records” – a vast archive of human history reflected in music, passionately curated and pressed onto vinyl. Anyone who strikes up a conversation with Çavuşoğlu there might also find out more about his record label “Rumi Sounds“: just like “Lefter Records“, it is constantly evolving and, with its vision of a diverse future, offers a home to numerous diasporic musicians in Berlin across a range of genres. About nextdoor Talk We’d like to get to know Berlin’s vibrant cultural scene even better. Once a month, hosts Lucilla Schmidinger and Sebastian Reier chat with guests about their unique ways of life, projects and works. Each episode centres on music and the shared experience of discovering something new. The way this takes place varies greatly: whether it’s listening to records or watching and discussing films, introducing books to one another, having discussions, sharing a meal or meditating together – anything is possible. For organisational reasons, in some cases, dates and guests may only be announced in the course of the season. Event in English
