As one of today’s leading oud virtuosos and curator of the Arabic Music Days, Naseer Shamma has been closely associated with the Pierre Boulez Saal since its inception. In April 2017, just a few weeks after the hall’s opening, he made his debut here with an unforgettable solo recital. As part of the West-Eastern Festival, the Iraqi musician is joined by an ensemble of extraordinary colleagues to present a program of traditional and new works. He will return as a soloist later in the season.
