The event focuses on the building blocks of visual composition—the interplay of architecture, design, costumes, makeup, lighting, acting, language, and music.

Framed by two artistic performances by Suse Wächter and Lisa Harres, Prof. Ezio Toffolutti—the first recipient of the newly established “Cesar Klein Prize for Scenography”— —will deliver a keynote address on his long-standing work as a set and costume designer as well as a painter. In a conversation with Leslie Malton (Chair of the Federal Association of Actors) and art historian Dr. Anna Ahrens, he will then explore the many facets of staging spaces and their significance for art, culture, and society.Translated with DeepL
