KRISTIN VON DER GOLTZ & ENSEMBLE
Works for Baroque Cello by Gabrielli, Bononcini, Geminiani, and others
One of today’s most acclaimed performers on the Baroque cello, Kristin von der Goltz has collaborated with many Early Music ensembles and appeared at the Pierre Boulez Saal opposite Isabelle Faust and Kristian Bezuidenhout, among others. This time, von der Goltz and her instrument take the spotlight. In her solo debut, she explores the history of the cello from its origins in Italy to its transformation into a solo instrument, which began long before Bach’s celebrated Cello Suites.
