Beekeeping to join in: What do bees collect from flowers? How were bees kept in earlier centuries? And how does the honey actually get into the jar?
The answers to these and other questions can be found in the open-air museum. Members of the beekeeping group in the Düppel museum village show beehives from past centuries and answer questions about bees, their keeping and honey. A "glass beehive" offers fascinating insights into the life of the insects.
Children can uncover honeycombs with their own hands and spin honey. If the weather and the bees cooperate, you can even buy honey produced on site. There is also a "knowledge wheel" for children where they have to answer tricky questions about bees. Those who know the answers will receive a small reward.
