he "Klang Büro" event seeks to recapture the adventurous spirit of the 60s and 70s: a time when everything seemed possible and the future could be created anew with fresh thinking and bold new ideas. Anything was possible: new forms of music, of performance, of art were all possible and needed only imagination and a spirit of experimentation to bring to fruition. From this time period we have a repertoire of "graphic scores" that ask the performers to create music in real time, partially improvising, partially open to new and unexpected influences.

This mini-festival will present some of the most captivating graphic scores of the "historical" avant-garde of the 60s and 70s, alongside new works by living artists. Some of the "composers" are visual artists, poets, sculptors, but we are not interested here in debates over categories of art. Rather, we are interested in the possibilities of what music can be when it exists beyond categories, when we discard expectations about how to perform music or what "counts" as correct or "real" music. This event explores the frontier of the 60s and 70s as a utopian ideal: the Klang Büro is an independent research institute for discovery and innovation, creating the music of the future, today.

Donnerstag: Threshold Trio (Ilia Viazov, Baßblockflöte/Feedback; Marisol Jimenez, Objekte; N. Andrew Walsh, Kontrafagott).

Freitag: Ensemble Gletsjer⁴ (Samuel Stoll, Abigail Sanders, Elena Kakaliagou, Morris Kliphuis).

Samstag: Threshold Kollektiv (Johannes Heidelke, Klarinetten/Elektronik; Johanna Schmalöer, Cello;Julian Schenk, Kontrabaß; Xueqing Yu, Objekte/Bewegung; N. Andrew Walsh, Kontrafagott).
