AICA prize ceremony

We cordially invite you to join us in celebrating the Georg Kolbe Museum's award as Museum of the Year 2025.

The Museum of the Year award has been presented by AICA Deutschland e. V. since 2004. It is the German section of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA), based in Paris. It honours art museums that have implemented exemplary concepts of exhibiting, collecting or communication over a longer period of time. We are delighted to celebrate this honour with you in our garden!

Jury statement: "A decisive criterion in assessing museum work is how an institution continually creates a new and different awareness of the historical relevance of its collection. In their exhibitions at the Georg Kolbe Museum, Dr Kathleen Reinhardt as director and Dr Elisa Tamaschke as curator give contemporary artists both the freedom to engage with each other and the task of questioning selected historical contexts from the circle of Georg Kolbe's work."
