During the festival, the foyer of HALLE Tanzbühne Berlin is transformed into a cinema on selected evenings, where we present dance films and documentaries about the company, with the artists present.

The documentary film »outro país« follows cie. toula limnaios on tour to Brazil in April 2014. The camera accompanies the dancers between rehearsals, performances, and the moments in between. »outro país« (beyond the land) tells of artistic work far from one’s own environment, of encounters, exchange, and the connecting power of dance. The film offers a personal look behind the scenes of a tour and portrays a company in motion.

»inmitten – a visual diary«

Episode 2: Portrait Hironori Sugata

Duration: 24 minutes

In »inmitten 2«, Bernd Sahling portrays the dancer Hironori Sugata, who appears at the festival in »shifted realities« in a double solo with Toula Limnaios.

»inmitten« is like a witness. It comprises a series of short documentary films. Since 2021, filmmaker Bernd Sahling has accompanied the company’s work with his camera, filming rehearsals, technical set-ups, meetings, livestreams, improvisations, and many other aspects of the ensemble’s daily life, while portraying the international ensemble members in personal interviews.

»inmitten« opens the door and invites the audience to take a look behind the scenes.
