From November 9 to 12, 2026, n.b.k. presents A Kind of Power, this year’s program of Artists Film International (AFI’26). Organized by Forma in London, the program is jointly curated with 12 international art organizations that present it worldwide.
Bringing together artists and partner organizations from four continents, the 19th edition of Artists Film International explores how systems of power shape the act of looking and the conditions under which we are seen. At a time when images spread instantly across borders and surveillance increasingly shapes everyday life, the program foregrounds the relationship between gaze and power – how it protects or exposes, affirms or diminishes – and considers the responsibilities that accompany every encounter between camera, subject, and viewer. Across exhibitions, screenings, and festivals throughout 2026, the selected works examine the politics of perception while proposing forms of attention and collective presence that point toward other ways of seeing and making visible.
