Unmittelbar

Artificial intelligence is flooding us with digital images. People can barely defend themselves against this deluge and can no longer trust their own eyes.

In the world of photography, instant photographers are bucking this trend: every instant photo is an original and a one-of-a-kind piece. The fourth exhibition by the Verein Deutsche Sofortbild Kunst e. V. will showcase these analog trends in Berlin from July 24 to August 1, 2026. Fifty artists from all over Germany will present their latest works at the Kunsthaus Bethanien in Kreuzberg. The exhibition “:unmittelbar” invites visitors to discover or reconnect with the instant photography scene in Germany. On display are classic landscape, portrait, and nude photography, as well as mechanical manipulation techniques and even chemical alterations to the film material.
