The Warsaw Uprising of 1944

This renowned exhibition is being held to mark the 82nd anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising and the 35th anniversary of the sister-city partnership between Berlin and Warsaw.

During the Warsaw Uprising, which took place from August 1 to October 2, 1944, against the Nazi occupation, approximately 200,000 people were killed, over 150,000 were deported to perform forced labor, and about 350,000 were displaced. The Warsaw Uprising Museum has been documenting these events since 2004. The exhibition has already been on tour in many cities around the world. In Berlin, the exhibition can be seen at the Rotes Rathaus through September 4, 2026.

Hours: The exhibitions at the Red City Hall are generally open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., except on public holidays. However, due to daily events and for security reasons, the City Hall may be temporarily closed.

Admission to the Red City Hall and the exhibitions is free.
