"Sichtbarkeiten" (Visibilities) sheds light on the perspectives of those affected by sexualized violence in the Church.
The three artists, including survivors themselves, use their photographs to depict a reality that moves, unsettles, and compels us to look.
The photographs and stories by Ilonka Czerny, Jens Windel, and Simone Padovani bring to light what often remains hidden: not only the abuse they experienced, but also life afterward and the struggle for justice. They acknowledge the challenges and the suffering, but also the strength of those affected. “Sichtbarkeiten” is also intended as a social call to action: to look, to listen, and to take responsibility. It invites viewers to engage with existing structures of coming to terms with the past and to reframe questions of justice and institutional responsibility.
