Hamburger Bahnhof invites everyone to the opening of the exhibition Ryuichi Sakamoto | seeing sound, hearing time.
Academy Award, Grammy Award and two-time Golden Globe winner Ryuichi Sakamoto is regarded as a pioneer of electronic and experimental music who continually redefined the boundaries between sound, film, performance and visual art. Since the 2000s Sakamoto developed three-dimensional sound environments, often in collaboration with international artists such as Shiro Takatani and Carsten Nicolai, as well as the filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul. “Ryuichi Sakamoto | seeing sound, hearing time” presents seven works in five large-scale installations.
