The Neue Synagoge Foundation sees itself as both a place of remembrance and a place of encounter. The building bridges Jewish history with the Jewish present and creates spaces for exchange, reflection, and diverse perspectives.
This summer, we are using a space that would otherwise be filled with exhibitions to experiment with something new. Digital elements allow visitors to experience past places and stories in a fresh way, while demonstrating what new forms of remembrance might look like. And original fragments of the former prayer hall, as well as film footage and objects from our collection that would otherwise remain hidden, serve as tangible traces of the past and allow us to reexamine it.
At the same time, we look ahead and ask ourselves and you: Which memories remain, which gaps should be filled? How do we move forward in a world that is constantly undergoing upheaval and offers little room to pause?
