Christoph Schlingensief: Es ist nicht mehr mein Problem, macht eure Scheiße alleine

The Gropius Bau is dedicating an exhibition to Schlingensief that highlights his visionary work, ranging from sensational political actions and radical theatrical productions to the fusion of performance and visual art.

Christoph Schlingensief's work relentlessly focused on the absurdities of the present. The exhibition “It's not my problem anymore, deal with your own shit” is not intended as a classic retrospective, but rather brings Schlingensief's central body of work into dialogue. It shows how his artistic strategies intertwine and repeatedly challenge the audience to take an active stance. In the first comprehensive exhibition in Berlin in over 10 years, the focus is therefore not on the completed work, but on the movement of questioning, doubting, and failing that characterizes Schlingensief's practice: "In my opinion, one can fail with enthusiasm, joy, and intention. [...] If you can accept inwardly that failure is necessary to harness your powers, a lot will happen."
