The portraits by photographer Anton Corbijn, who has been accompanying influential artists on the international music and culture scene for decades, are known worldwide.

Anton Corbijn is one of the most influential photographers on the international pop and culture scene. He rose to prominence in the late 1970s with his mostly black-and-white portraits, which do not stage musicians and artists, but show them in a concentrated, often raw directness. His defining motifs include bands and personalities from rock, pop, and film, whose public images he has had a lasting influence on.

In 2025, Corbijn celebrated a double anniversary: his 70th birthday and 50 years of artistic work. To mark the occasion, Fotografiska in Berlin is hosting a major retrospective of this exceptional artist in May 2026.

The exhibition at Fotografiska features portraits of Depeche Mode, Patti Smith, David Bowie, Kate Moss, and others.
