In the early 2000s, Nokia wanted to turn mobile phones into gaming consoles with the N-Gage – and failed spectacularly. The exhibition tells the exciting story of this ‘fantastic failure’: Why did the N-Gage become a meme? What do its games reveal about the gaming culture of the time? And how can mistakes pave the way for later successes? The travelling exhibition from the Suomen pelimuseo in Tampere displays original devices and playable classics and asks the question: Are missteps inevitable on the path to innovation?
