While researching traces of colonial history in Reinickendorf, a previously unknown place in the German colony of Cameroon came to light: “Neu-Tegel bei Buea.” The lecture follows this trail from Cameroon to Tegel, exploring the origins of the name, the key figures involved, and the sources—and demonstrates how local history can be intertwined with German colonial rule.

The event will feature a presentation of the publication “Colonial Traces in Reinickendorf,” published in 2025.
