City tour to places of remembrance of colonialism: between Wilhelmstraße and the "African Quarter".

Street names and memorial steles at various locations in Berlin commemorate the colonial past. The tour leads from Wilhelmstraße (Mitte) to the temporary memorial stele exhibition "Paths of Remembrance" in Wedding. Along the memorial steles, which focus on anti-colonial resistance fighters and movements, the city tour opens up new perspectives on German colonial history.

The city tour invites visitors to understand public space as a place of learning and remembrance and to critically examine colonial continuities in urban space. Afterwards there will be an opportunity to exchange ideas.

Tickets: Only available in advance via our ticket store. A valid BVG ticket is also required for participation.

Notes on the event: The city tour will also take place in the event of rain. The route between Anton-Wilhelm-Amo-Straße and the "African Quarter" will be covered by subway. As part of the tour, a survey will be conducted in cooperation with the Institute for Social Sciences at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Participation is voluntary and anonymous.

Accessibility: The walking tour takes place at ground level. Elevators are available at the subway stations. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that they will work, so please check for yourself.
