Vom Tanz zum Text: Online-Workshop

How to articulate your artistic practice effectively and describe research projects or future pieces with clarity? This intensive workshop explores techniques for concretizing ideas and communicating them to readers beyond the dance community. It is designed for dance professionals who have conceptualized artistic projects and have some experience (positive or negative) with grant applications.In the three hours in person workshop, we will discuss how to translate choreographic thinking and embodied knowledge into compelling written proposals suitable for public art grants in Germany. This includes defining clear structures and essential points for project descriptions. Developing skills to write persuasive funding applications. Focusing on crafting impactful short descriptions, a key component of successful applications.

Yu Bai is a producer and dramaturg active in Berlin's independent dance scene since 2019. Previously, she held roles as a journalist and creative strategist in Amsterdam. In her work, she encourages artistic experimentation that defies traditional genre boundaries, prioritizing projects that disrupt conventional audience-art dynamics. She actively fosters networking and knowledge-sharing among artists, cultural, and political entities, with a mission to broaden access for vulnerable communities within society.
