Life and Writing in East and West Berlin
A conversation with writer Katja Oskamp and author Björn Kuhligk, moderated by Marion Brasch.
Literature does not emerge in a vacuum. Personal experiences and social conditions help shape writing. They spark the imagination and become stories. But how does everyday life influence writing? What artistic freedoms existed on either side of the Wall? And what changed after 1989?
In the final episode of our discussion series “Time of Transformation,” East Berlin-born writer Katja Oskamp, author of “Marzahn, mon amour” and *Die vorletzte Frau*, and West Berlin author Björn Kuhligk, known for *Überall Nachbarn* and *Berlin-Beschimpfung*, discuss the invention of reality with host Marion Brasch.
Meeting place: Salon (ground floor)
