Wild Bees & Wasps: Pollinators, Herbivores, and Predators

Which wild bees and wasps actually live, buzz, and hunt in our gardens? How can we tell the different insects apart? Why are many of them endangered, and how can we help them? On a walk through the Botanical Garden, we’ll look for silk bees, earth bumblebees, parasitic wasps, and more. We’ll learn about their important roles and discuss together how we can support them in our own gardens or on our balconies.

Connections That Bear Fruit

How does a cherry blossom actually turn into a cherry, and what do beetles, butterflies, and bats have to do with it? Do bees prefer to pollinate certain plants over others? We’ll trace the path from flower to fruit and discover how the close connection between flowers and pollinators has developed. To help pollinators, we’ll gather practical ideas on how your own garden or balcony can become a diverse and natural habitat.
