“Today is a nice day to die,” sings Jim Morrison on the radio, and Grandma Kampnagel agrees: The 92-year-old gets into her car to throw herself off a bridge. But a man gets in her way, and at the hospital, the elderly woman feels so much compassion for the unwitting lifesaver—who lost his memory in the accident—that she blackmails the trio of investigators into finding out the man’s identity. Inge Meysel had already played Elisabeth Kampnagel in 1995 in the award-winning “Polizeiruf 110” episode “IA Landeier.” “Mein letzter Wille” was her final film.
