Max Liebermann's garden overlooking the Wannsee is a lasting source of inner peace and artistic inspiration - not only for the artist himself, but for everyone who has the opportunity to experience it.
On four Fridays in summer, an open-air painting course takes place in the garden of the Liebermann Villa on Wannsee, inviting you to try out your artistic skills. The course focuses on pastel and watercolor techniques and includes an introduction to color theory and quick sketching. The aim is to transfer quick impressions of shapes and colors onto paper and to develop balanced compositions. Based on Liebermann's own pastel works, we will try our hand at depicting reflections of water, the sky, the plant world and people in the meadow. It is not about perfection, but about capturing and passing on the memories and moods of a place. The course is aimed at anyone who is interested in classical or contemporary drawing and painting techniques en plein air. No previous knowledge is required.
