Future Tools Series

At this “Future Tools” Open Lab evening, we’ll be exploring every maker’s dream tool—the laser cutter. From quickly developing and precisely bringing individual designs to life in a wide variety of materials, to cutting simple patterns, engraving detailed graphics into wood, or building complex three-dimensional objects—anything is possible.



Are you curious and want to know what possibilities the laser cutter has to offer? Then stop by and get to know the tool and the basics of laser cutting through your own small project: preparing designs for the laser cutter, cutting, engraving, and selecting materials.

The laser cutter and materials for experimentation are available for free on-site. Bringing your own laptop is helpful for developing your own cutting patterns. Dropping by on a whim? No worries—we have laptops available on-site.

“Future Tools” is our current workshop series, in which we take an in-depth look at various technologies. We’ll familiarize you with the machines of the future so you can develop creative ideas for tomorrow’s world.



What is an Open Lab evening?

Every Thursday, things get creative in the Lab. You’ll learn about methods like Design Thinking and Future Storytelling, try out 3D printers and laser cutters, and get a behind-the-scenes look at Lab projects. There’s something new every week.



Workshop Facilitators

The Education Innovation Lab is a Think & Do Tank. Working closely with experts, teachers, and students, they create learning environments that foster critical thinking and active participation in shaping a sustainable future.



Junge Tüftleris a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering people to actively and sustainably shape the world using digital tools. Since 2016, the Junge Tüftler*innen team has grown into a diverse group of experts from the fields of education, design, computer science, music, and, of course, making and coding, among many others. This diversity enables them to develop innovative formats and content and put them into practice.
