“I often think that the night is more alive and colorful than the day.” – A quote from Vincent van Gogh serves as our inspiration this fall at KINDERhandPRESSE in the FHXB’s historic print shop. All workshops will focus on twilight and darkness, as well as nocturnal shadows.

“LA CATRINA & HER FRIENDS”—Calavera Weekend Workshop (ages 9 and up)
What? Linocut & typographic hand-setting
When? Sat., Sept. 26 – Sun., Sept. 27, 2026, 10:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. each day
Who is it for? Children and teens ages 9–18, with or without prior experience in printmaking

“CITYLIGHTS: WHEN NIGHT FALLS IN BERLIN” – Professional Weekends for ages 13 and up
What? Linocut/woodcut & typographic hand typesetting
When? October 10–11, 2026, and November 21–22, 2026, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. each day
Who is it for? Teens ages 13 and up with prior experience in printmaking or the arts

“IT’S EASY TO WHISPER IN THE DARK”—Ongoing afternoon course for ages 8 and up
What? Linocut & hand typesetting, screen printing & writing workshop
When? November12 , 2026 – January 21, 2027, every Thursday, 3:30–6:00 p.m.
Who is it for? Children and teens ages 8–12, with or without prior experience in printmaking

“A LITTLE LIGHT IN THE NIGHT” – Lantern Weekend Workshop (ages 9 and up)
What? Linocut & lantern making
When? Sat., Dec. 5 – Sun., Dec. 6, 2026, 10:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. each day
Who is it for? Children and teens ages 9–18, with or without prior experience in printmaking

We are now accepting registrations via the attached registration form at . Please note that only those children and teens for whom a completed and signed form has been submitted will be considered registered; unfortunately, a simple expression of interest via email is not sufficient. Our courses build on one another in terms of content and technical skills; please register only if your child is able to attend all sessions of the respective course. Thank you very much
Project funding from the Deutscher Museumsbund e.V. makes it possible to offer all workshops free of charge. We especially invite children and teens who have a BerlinPass or whose families are facing particular hardships (financial difficulties, illness, family challenges, “Welcome Children,” special educational needs, etc.). If this applies to you, please let us know informally in a brief message.
