If science is queen at Humboldt Lab, then #Logoskop is her court jester. Since 2021, artistic freedom has been making monthly - appearances at Humboldt University’s exhibition space, using literature to shake up the scientific perspective. Equipped with microphones and amplifiers, two slam poets wander through the exhibition and recite texts.
This time, slam poets Alex Burkhard and Alicia Osiik will be joining us. Together, they will comment on the exhibition ‘On Water’ with live recitations. Visitors are invited to accompany them on their tour of eloquence.

Since 2007, Alex Burkhard has been writing stories and poetry and performing them in a wide variety of settings: in museums, bars, theatres, lobbies and living rooms, on a wooden platform in the middle of a lake, or aboard a ship on the Rhine. In 2017, he became German-language Poetry Slam Champion and Bavarian Poetry Slam Champion. Before that, he had won the Munich City Poetry Slam Championship three years in a row.
In 2018, he received the Cultural Award of the City of Lindenberg, and in 2019 he was named Rottweil’s City Writer. Between 2013 and 2019, he published slam poetry and prose with the Berlin-based Satyr Verlag. At the invitation of the Goethe-Institut, he has performed and led workshops in Mexico, Cyprus and Portugal.
Alicia Osiik is a poetry slam artist from Bremen, Germany. Her texts move between personal reflection, social observation, and the poetry of everyday life. Her spoken-word poetry is direct, pointed, and sometimes uncomfortable, while never shying away from humor and self-irony.
What connects her texts is an eye for the small moments in which something much bigger suddenly becomes visible. Osiik explores thoughts, experiences, and contradictions that are easily overlooked in everyday life, giving them space on stage. Along the way, things can get emotional, absurd, thought-provoking, or simply damn honest. On stage, her poetry is above all one thing: loud, personal, and versatile, with words that sometimes make you laugh, sometimes make you think, and sometimes do both at once.
