Welcome to the year 2050: Your fridge knows your blood values, your care robot knows your favorite jokes - and AI decides how self-determined we age. Sounds practical. But who sets the rules? -Become a member of a citizens' council and make decisions for the ageing of the future!
In this interactive workshop, you will discuss what ageing could look like in a digitalized society: What tasks will machines take on? Where is human judgment needed? And how do we prevent algorithms from perpetuating prejudices from the past into the future? With the help of improvisation methods, strategic debates and speculative prototypes, you will design possible futures of ageing between care, freedom and control.
Together with Justine Walter (Speculative Futures Leipzig) and Lilith Boettcher (Futures Probes), you will also find out what decisions we can make today to enable ageing people to live a dignified, just and worthwhile existence in the future.
*Aparallel workshop on the same topic will take place in cooperation with Speculative Futures Taipei in Taiwan.
