Life in the Middle Ages

The guided tour of the museum village offers a hands-on look at the culture, agriculture, and crafts of the Middle Ages.
Explore thatched-roof houses, try your hand at using a flail, or grind grain by hand: This way, you can experience firsthand what everyday life was like for the rural population in our region around the year 1200!
Who were the farmers of that time? Where did they come from? The findings from archaeological excavations provide answers to questions about who lived along the Havel and Spree rivers in the Middle Ages, how community life changed during that period, and why that was the case.
