BodySpace Magazine launches its first issue, home(un)making, at Acker Stadt Palast, a former collectively occupied building, with a talk, collective reading, and gathering. Fifteen contributors from a three-semester co-research group ask how bodies build, unbuild, and rebuild home amid memory, displacement, and arrival.
Through drawings, photographs, poetic fragments, recipes, maps, and a card game, the issue traces stories of post-reunification East Berlin, gender-affirming recovery, migration, lesbian city-making, and more-than-human friendships, as well as recipes carried across borders. Edited by Dr. Mariana Morais, the magazine emerged from a teaching-as-research practice that experiments with sensorial methods to capture embodied experiences of everyday life.
