Japanese Binding

The Art of the Visible Thread

Japanese bookbinding brings paper and thread together in a visible expression of calm. Each stitch follows a rhythm, and each binding creates a pattern of lines, tension, and structure.

In this workshop, participants create handbound books where the act of binding itself becomes part of the design. Using paper, needle, and thread, we explore traditional binding techniques and create individual objects at the intersection of craft, graphic design, and book art.
