We show the small world in a big way

LiveWhat actually lives in a drop of water? What’s hidden inside a dish sponge? And what does our everyday world look like if we suddenly magnify it a thousand times? We explore these questions in a unique way in “Invisible Worlds: Mega-Microscopy.” With the help of microscopes installed in the planetarium and live projections, we’ll work together to make the invisible visible and embark on a monthly journey of discovery into the microcosm.Together, we observe, ask questions, and get to the bottom of things—and in the process, discover just how much the unknown lurks even in our immediate surroundings. Looking through the microscope opens up a new perspective on our environment and reveals structures, organisms, and connections that remain hidden to the naked eye.Visitors can also help decide what we’ll examine: They’re invited to bring, for example, a glass of water from a local pond, a dish sponge from their own kitchen, or other interesting objects that we’ll examine together.This new, interactive series is organized in collaboration with instructors from the Glass Laboratory and the Marzahn Outdoor Laboratory.In cooperation with Image © SPB | Photo: Pedro BecerraTranslated with DeepL
