The “Great Patriotic War” remains a central point of reference in the memory of World War II in the post-Soviet space to this day. However, since the collapse of the Soviet Union, diverse and at times conflicting cultures of remembrance have developed. What role does the Soviet war myth play today in Russia, Ukraine, and Lithuania? How is it politically exploited, reinterpreted, or challenged? Prof. Dr. Gelinada Grinchenko, Prof. Dr. Violeta Davoliūtė, and Prof. Dr. Jan C. Behrends will discuss these questions.

In cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Germany.

The event will feature simultaneous interpretation in German and English.
