Harfleri kullanarak, iz bırakın – grab the letters, make your mark A Turkish-German printing evening – Türk-Alman Baskı Akşamı

A participatory workshop evening as part of the "Unity in Diversity" action day

Printing connects – across borders and languages. To mark UNESCO's World Day for Cultural Diversity, we're letting the letters speak: We invite you to print together in German and Turkish. We'll be using historic type cases from the 1950s, each with its own story to tell. Why are certain Turkish characters missing from the former Kreuzberg printing house, now a museum? Together, we'll creatively fill these gaps and design our messages for a culturally diverse society. Come along, make a statement, and print with us!

The evening is organized by the Association for the Black Art (Verein für die Schwarze Kunst e.V.) and is aimed at anyone who would like to experience hand typesetting and letterpress printing firsthand, thus gaining practical experience in the diversity of writing and its history. Participants can take their creation home as a souvenir.

 

The evening will be led by:

Anne König , a printer and printing engineer, regularly provides insights into the history of the workshop and the traditional methods of hand typesetting and letterpress printing, and is a board member of the Association for the Black Art .

Katharina Walter , typographer and cultural studies scholar, and also a board member of the Association for the Black Art of Printing, researches the history of typesetting. She loves working with others to keep the art of printing alive.

Sener Abanozoglu , entrepreneur and lecturer at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences, supports the workshop with his ideas and enthusiasm for linguistic diversity as a member of the German-Turkish community.

FHXB Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Müzesi’ndeki Tarihi Matbaa Atölyesi

Kitap baskısı, sınırların ve dillerin ötesinde birleştirir. UNESCO Dünya Kültürel Çeşitlilik Günü’nde harfleri konuşturuyoruz: Sizi Almanca ve Türkçe baskı yapmaya davet ediyoruz. Bu etkinlikte, kendi hikayelerini anlatan 50'li yıllardan kalma tarihi dizgi kasalarını kullanacağız. Bugün müzede bulunan eski Kreuzberg matbaasında neden bazı Türkçe harfler eksik? Birlikte bu boşlukları yaratıcı bir şekilde doldurarak  toplumumuzda kültürel çeşitliliğe dayalı bir birliktelik için mesajlarımızı şekillendiriyoruz. Gelin, iz bırakın ve bizimle birlikte baskı yapın!

 

Etkinlik Akşamı, Schwarze Kunst e.V. derneği tarafından düzenleniyor ve el dizgisi ile kitap basımını,  yazı çeşitliliğini ve tarihini pratik bir şekilde deneyimlemek isteyen herkese hitap ediyor. Yapılan baskıları  hatıra olarak eve götürebilirsiniz.

 

Katılım ücretsizdir. Kayıt yaptırmaya gerek yoktur.

 

Akşamın moderatörlei:

Anne König, matbaacı ve baskı mühendisi; atölyenin tarihine ve el dizgisi ile kitap basımının geleneksel yöntemlerine dair düzenli olarak bilgiler paylaşmakta ve Verein für die Schwarze Kunst derneğinin yönetim kurulu üyesidir.

Katharina Walter, bir tipograf ve kültür bilimci olarak Verein für die Schwarze Kunst derneğinin yönetim kurulu üyesidir. Dizgi tarihine ilişkin araştırmalar yapmaktadır. Kitap baskısını diğer insanlarla birlikte yaşatmaktan büyük keyif almaktadır.

Sener Abanozoglu, girişimci ve Berlin Teknik Üniversitesi'nde öğretim görevlisidir. Alman-Türk topluluğunun bir üyesi olarak dilsel çeşitliliğe duyduğu sevgi ve  fikirleriyle atölyeye destek olmaktadır.
